Access to earned wages between pay periods can provide valuable financial flexibility for employees. At the same time, many employers are cautious about offering this option because it can involve funding advances, managing approvals, or taking on financial risk.

Connecteam’s integration with Clair makes this simple. Clair is a regulated On-Demand Pay provider* that allows employees to access wages they’ve already earned. Clair handles all underwriting, risk assessment, and repayment, so the employer does not take on any financial responsibility. This lets businesses provide a meaningful benefit to employees while staying efficient and competitive.

How to Disable Earned Wage Access* Powered by Clair

By default, Earned Wage Access powered by Clair is enabled in your account. If you wish to disable Earned Wage Access, follow the steps below. Note that disabling this feature will remove early wage access as a benefit, which means employees will no longer have the option to access their earned wages before payday.

  1. Access the Users page from the left sidebar.

  2. Access the user settings on the top right and enter the Earned Wage Access powered by Clair tab.

  3. This setting is toggled on by default to enable early wage access through Clair. If you wish to disable it, simply toggle it off.

*Note that only account owners can toggle off the Earned Wage Access powered by Clair setting.

How Users Can Access Earned Wage Access*

Users can access their earned wages early by opening their profile in the mobile app and navigating to the Estimated Pay section. In this section, they’ll find the Earned Wage Access widget. Tapping it will direct them to Clair, where they can sign up and provide the necessary information.

After signing up, users will be able to receive standard advances in 1-3 business days fee-free, or send instant transfers directly to their bank account for a $4.99 fee. Instant Transfers typically occur in seconds, but may take up to 30 minutes.

Giving employees more control over when they receive their pay can reduce financial stress, increase job satisfaction, and encourage them to stay longer.
