Learn how to configure pay rules in Connecteam to match ADP WFN Next Gen's earning codes.

When mapping Connecteam pay rules to ADP Workforce Now Next Gen, you might notice that some items don’t align as expected. This usually happens because Connecteam allows you to group multiple conditions (like daily or weekly overtime) under a single pay rule with the same multiplier - while ADP Next Gen treats each of these conditions as a separate earning code.

If you’ve found that one Connecteam rule can’t be matched to multiple ADP earning codes, please follow the steps provided in this article to structure your pay rules in Connecteam so they map correctly, one-to-one, with ADP.

Because ADP WFN Next Gen does not support multiple conditions within a single overtime rule, each overtime rule in Connecteam must be configured with only one condition. For example, if both daily and weekly overtime apply, they should be set up as two separate rules - one for daily overtime and one for weekly overtime.

In the example below, there is an overtime policy for full-time employees that includes a general overtime rule with both weekly and daily conditions.

Since this configuration is not supported in ADP WFN Next Gen, the following steps are required to split it into two separate overtime rules:

  1. Click the three dots next to the relevant Policy and select Edit policy.

  2. Click Add rule and select Create new.

  3. Create your separate Weekly Overtime rule - select the rule type and payment type (for example, multiply base wage by 1.5 per hour).

  4. Click Add condition and select Weekly. Finally Configure how many hours trigger overtime.

  5. Click Save rule.

  6. Repeat steps 1-5 for any other rule you need to create, such as Daily or Consecutive day overtime.

  7. Finally, delete any rules which include multiple conditions.

  8. Click Save changes. You will then be prompted to choose how the changes should be applied - select Replace existing policy to overwrite the current policy.
