The Import Capability for Performance Indicators allows you to seamlessly upload existing employee performance data into Connecteam. If you're already tracking key metrics such as total sales, number of units sold (like wine bottles, retail items, or service packages), or other quantifiable performance indicators in Excel, you can now import this data into your employee's performance tab, saving you time while ensuring all metrics are properly displayed for comprehensive performance tracking.

How to Import Key Indicators Of Employee Performance via CSV

Step 1: Access the Import data section in the Performance tab, in the Users page.

  1. Navigate to the Users page, found in the left sidebar.

  2. Click on Settings on the top right

  3. Toggle on performance tracking on the top - this gives each employee a clear view of their performance.

  4. Click on Import to import your employee's Key indicators data.

You will also be able to import the data directly from the user's profile, by accessing the Performance tab in their profile, and selecting Import on the top right.

Step 2: Prepare Your Excel Spreadsheet For Import

Follow these steps to prepare your spreadsheet for import:

  1. Download an Excel template

  2. Fill in the template with the key indicators and the performance data you want to import and track

  3. Save as a CSV file on your computer

Please note: The downloaded file has a specific column structure that must be maintained for a successful import.

Here is an example of what the initial downloaded template looks like:

Step 3: Upload the CSV File and Select Import Settings

Now, drag your CSV file to where the arrow indicates and select one of the following options:

  1. Add new values on top the existing values: This option will add the numerical values from the CSV file to any existing values already in the user’s profile. For example, if a user currently has $300 in their profile and the CSV contains $100, their new total will be $400.

  2. Overwrite data for selected dates: This option will replace any existing data for the selected dates in the user's profile with the values from the CSV file. Use this if you want to fully update or correct previously entered data.

Note that if a user has multiple values for the same date in the CSV file, the system will automatically combine them into a single total for that date.

Step 4: Evaluate the Overview and Fix Any Errors

If your file includes indicators that do not exist in the account, you can select whether to match this with an existing indicator, create a new indicator, or ignore the column, in the Unknown columns stage.

How Do I Know if the Import Was Successful?

Head to one of your users, go to their performance tab, and see if it was imported - this is what it will look like:

**The number of key indicators you can create depends on your business plan: Basic (2), Advanced (6), Expert (9), and unlimited for higher-tier plans.**
