Understanding labor costs is crucial to your company's profitability. By reviewing your projected labor costs during the scheduling process, you can ensure that employee shifts align with your budget. By analyzing past schedules, you can pinpoint instances where labor costs exceeded the budget, providing valuable insights to optimize future schedules and avoid similar costly mistakes. Before proceeding, it's important to note that you must have pay rates enabled and set to view scheduled and/or actual labor costs in the schedule. To learn more about setting up pay rates, click here.
How to View Labor Costs in the Schedule
To view labor costs, navigate to Schedule on the left sidebar and enter the relevant schedule. Make sure that you are viewing options are set to view by users and you are viewing the schedule by week.
Then, in the view options menu toggle on the labor costs options.
Now, at the top of each day, you should see the scheduled labor cost per day.
💡Tip: Scheduled labor costs can only be visible to admins who have permission to view or/and view and edit pay rates.
What is Included in the Scheduled Labor Costs Calculation?
Now, that you know how to view your scheduled labor costs, let's go over what is taken into consideration and what is not when calculating scheduled labor costs.
