Looking for a more efficient way to add sub-jobs to existing jobs? This article explores how to streamline the process by bulk importing sub-jobs through the Jobs tab, reducing manual input and saving valuable time!
The Jobs Tab serves as a centralized hub for managing jobs, clients, projects, and any work your users need to clock into or be assigned for their shifts. Please note that you will only be able to import sub-jobs to jobs with at least one existing sub-job, and that this can only be done through the Jobs tab. Let's dive in!
Step by Step: Importing Sub-Jobs to Existing Jobs
Access the Jobs Tab found in the left sidebar, and ensure the jobs you are adding sub-jobs to, have at least one existing sub-job.
Click on Import on the right, and Download the Excel template.
In the Excel template, under the Parent Job field, enter the name of the relevant job to which you are adding sub-jobs.
Under the Job Title field, enter all the sub-jobs you would like to import.
Please note that by default, newly imported sub-jobs will inherit the settings of the parent job, including the description, location, and qualified users. To customize the sub-jobs with different details, simply enter the relevant information in the provided fields.
After filling out all the relevant fields, make sure to export the file as a CSV.
In Connecteam, import the CSV file by dragging or browsing for the file, and click Next.
In the Overview page, review the information to ensure everything is correct, and make any changes if relevant. When done, click Next.
Review the summary of your imported sub-jobs and click Next.
For sub-jobs with customized details different from the parent job, enter their settings and uncheck the Use same settings as parent job option.
That's it! You have now added sub-jobs to the Jobs tab and they're ready to be used in the Time Clock and/or the Job Scheduler!
