Labels are a simple and quick way to classify your tasks for filtering purposes which can be used by both the task creator and assignee. Labels can also be used by the task creator for execution oversight purposes.

In other words, labels are an information layer that can be added in order to classify, categorize, group, and associate one or multiple tasks across your organization.

If you are not familiar with our Quick Tasks, check out our Quick Tasks: Get Started article.

Let's go over how to create and assign a label, as well as give some examples of commonly used labels.

Creating new labels:

There are 2 ways of creating a label. The first way is creating it in advance through the "Labels" button on the launch pad, the second way is during the creation of a task.

Through the label button:

  1. Navigate to Quick Tasks.

  2. Click the "Labels" button located at the top right of the screen.

  3. Click "+Add Label" in the top right corner.

  4. Give it a title and choose its color.

Assigning labels to existing tasks:

  4. Click “Update task”.

You can view your tasks according to the labels you created them under, in the Quick Tasks feature.

When and how to use:

  1. It is recommended that your labels add an information layer that doesn't already exist within the task details (task assignee, task creator, etc.)

  2. Try and think about how to categorize your tasks in a way that would be intuitive and capture the meaning behind them, and group multiple tasks together.

Note: Labels can be edited along with the rest of a tasks' details even after it has been published, so feel free to start labeling.

Examples for common uses of labels could be:

  • Location/sight.

  • Team/department.

  • Job/Client.

  • Periodical- "End of the week", "January", etc.

  • Event/project-oriented- "Before payroll", "Company trip prep", "Connecteam app launch", etc.

And many more.
