Our Time Clock is all about simplification and automation of your time tracking and payroll process by getting accurate information regarding employees working hours and easily controlling overtime and PTO. Among all of its capabilities, you'll be able to approve or decline employees’ requests, such as shifts and absences. Making managing your day to day operations easy and efficient.

In this article we will cover:

Introduction to Pending Requests

Once an employee has requested time off, absence, or has edited a shift from the app, you can approve or decline the request from your dashboard.

  1. Access your dashboard

  2. Select the Time Clock from the left sidebar

  3. Select the Today tab

  4. Click on Pending Requests

The request modal will appear, listing all the requests your employees have submitted over a specific range of time. Employees will be able to check the status of their request (i.e. declined, approved, pending) by accessing their request tab from the mobile app.

Approving and Declining Requests

As a manager, you'll be able to either approve or decline requests.

If you choose to approve them, the requests will automatically populate into the employee's timesheets. You can also chat with the employee regarding their request straight from the requests page by clicking on the ‘Chat with user’ button.

Setting Up Notifications, Never Miss a Request Again

Under the settings of the Time Clock, you have the ability to be notified via email or push notification every time that a request is submitted by an employee or gets approved/declined by another admin. You can enable or disable the option from your Time Clock settings.

How to enable it? Simply by following these steps:

  1. Access the Time Clock settings from the top right corner of the screen

  2. Select the Notifications tab from the left sidebar

  3. Toggle on the relevant notifications you wish to be notified to

Keep in mind that: the notification settings apply to all managers and administrators but need to be adjusted for each admin individually. You can read more about Managing Notifications by clicking here.

The Absence Insights Widget

The Absence Insights Widget is available under the timesheets tab.

It allows you to view how many absence hours were tracked and by how many employees.

  • Pro tip: Want to take a close look? By clicking on the "View all absences" button, you'll be able to view all absences for all time clock users, filter by paid and unpaid absences, export reports, take actions and more!
