Admin Permissions on the User's tab allow you to decide which actions your admins are and are not allowed to take in regard to users. They give you control over which admins have the ability to view, add & edit, and manage other admins and user details. You can permit them with all types of permission or choose which access to grant them.

In this article we will go over:

How to Set Up Admin Permissions on the Users Tab

To set up Admin Permissions on the Users tab, access the Users Tab and click on the "category admin" list. Next, click on the admins and edit their permission, you can select one or multi-select them all. The options are View, Add & edit, Manage Admins, and Manage User Details. Please note that each admin can only view or edit information of users who they are admins of on their smart groups.

Types of Admin Permissions

You can define several types of permissions for each admin.

Selecting the "View" option will allow the admin to view the Users tab only, without editing the user's information. They will be able to access the "Users details" but won't have permission to edit users' information or edit the user's profile page.

Selecting "Add & Edit" will allow admins to add new users and edit exciting users' details from the user's profile page.

Admins will have permission to edit the user's details within the "Users Details" tab. However, they won't have permission to edit or add Custom Feilds in the "Users Details" tab.

Selecting "Manage Admins" will allow the admin to manage other admins' information and permissions from the Users or Admins profile page, however, they won't have permission to edit the User Details tab.

Selecting "Manage User Details" will allow admins to edit and manage exciting custom field details as well as add new ones. They will not however have permission to edit Users' information in the Users Detail tab or on the user's profile page.

In the example below we see an admin with only the permissions to manage user details won't have permission to edit Users' information on the user's profile page.

Below you can see that admins with the Manage User Details permission can add new fields under the "User Details" tab

Below you can see that the same admin who was able to add and edit the custom fields above won't have permission to edit Users Details under the Users Details tab.

What would an admin see if they try to perform an action they don't have permission for?

If an admin tries to perform an action without permission, such as "adding users", a pop-up message will appear stating he should contact the admin.

If an admin that has restricted permissions tries to perform an action without permission in the mobile view, a pop-up message will appear stating he should contact the admin.
