Templates are predefined structures, layouts, or designs that you can repeatedly use and adjust when creating content for your company. They are powerful tools that save time, simplify the content creation process, and ensure consistency in content structure and language—especially important when multiple admins are involved. At Connecteam, we aim to streamline your workflow by providing comprehensive template libraries across features like Courses, Forms, Knowledge Base, and more, which you can customize and save for future use.

How to Access and Customize Templates
You can find a template library in Forms, Updates, Surveys, Knowledge Base, and Courses. In each of these features, you can use one of our ready-made templates, customize it to fit the exact needs of your company, and then save it for future use. Let's go through each to see how to do this!
Forms
To customize one of our ready-made templates and save it as your own in Forms:
Access the Forms feature from the left sidebar
Once in the forms lobby, click on + Add new
Select Use a template
You are now in the forms Template library. Browse through the templates —notice how you have a preview on the right side. Once you've made your choice, click Select this template.
Customize it to your needs:
Structure and content - you can add new fields and remove or edit existing ones.
Settings - click on the Settings button from the bottom right corner, go through each tab (General, Share Options, Manager fields, Reminders, and Auto Reports), set it up as you'd like, and then hit Confirm
Once it is ready, select Save as template, name it, and then Save template.
All done!
You can then access and re-use it anytime you need by accessing the forms Template Library using the steps above and selecting it under the Created by me section.
To delete one of the custom templates you've saved, simply access the template library, hover over the relevant template, click on the trash icon, and then Delete.

Updates
To customize one of our ready-made templates and save it as your own in Updates:
Access the Updates feature from the left sidebar
Once in the updates lobby, click on + Add new
Select Use a template
You are now in the updated Template library. Browse through the templates —notice how you have a preview on the right side. Once you've made your choice, click Select this template.
Customize it to your needs by choosing a background, editing the content, and adding emojis, attachments, and more
Once it is ready, select Save as template, name it, and then Save template.
All done!
You can then access and re-use it anytime you need by accessing the updates Template Library using the steps above and selecting it under the Created by me section.
To delete one of the custom templates you've saved, simply access the template library, hover over the relevant template, click on the trash icon, and then Delete.

Surveys
To customize one of our ready-made templates and save it as your own in Surveys:
Access the Surveys feature from the left sidebar
Once in the survey lobby, click on + Add new
Select Use a template
You are now in the surveys Template library. Browse through the templates —notice how you have a preview on the right side. Once you've made your choice, click Select this template.
Decide if you'd like it anonymous, and then customize it to your needs by adding new fields or removing or editing existing ones.
Once it is ready, select Save as template, name it, and then Save template.
All done!
You can then access and re-use it anytime you need by accessing the surveys Template Library using the steps above and selecting it under the Created by me section.
To delete one of the custom templates you've saved, simply access the template library, hover over the relevant template, click on the trash icon, and then Delete.

Knowledge Base
To create a template of your own in the Knowledge Base:
Access the Knowledge Base feature from the left sidebar
Once in the lobby, click on + Add new, and select Start from scratch
Create your knowledge base as you usually would and then click on Save as template
All done!
To access the template library in the Knowledge Base, and use any of the ones you've created:

Once in the lobby, click on + Add new
Select Use a template
You are now in the knowledge base Template library, simply choose the template of yours you wish to use.
To delete one of the custom templates you've made, simply access the template library, hover over the relevant template, click on the trash icon, and then Delete.

Courses
To customize one of our ready-made templates and save it as your own in Courses:
Access the Courses feature from the left sidebar
Once in the lobby, click on + Add new
Choose the segment and provide your new course a name
Select Use a template
You are now in the course Template library. Browse through the templates —notice how you have a preview on the right side. Once you've made your choice, click Select this template.
Customize it to your needs:
Structure and content - Add new fields and remove or edit existing ones.
Settings - click on the Settings button on the bottom right, navigate to both the General tab and the Object timing tab, set it up as you'd like, and then hit Save.
Once it is ready, select Save as template, name it, and then Save template.
All done!
You can then access and re-use it anytime you need by accessing the courses Template Library using the steps above and selecting it under the Created by me section.
To delete one of the custom templates you've saved, simply access the template library, hover over the relevant template, click on the trash icon, and then Delete.

*The ability to save templates is a cross-platform capability and can only be done from the Advanced plan. This means that if the Advanced plan allows you to save up to 3 templates of your own, this total will be across Courses, Forms, Surveys, and Updates*
