In Connecteam, we want to make sure you have the ability to assign each feature to the relevant groups or users. You, as a manager, have full control in deciding which features your employees are able to access.

By assigning relevant features to the relevant user, you will be able to:

  • Minimize employee errors

  • Control the flow of information for your users

  • Maintain focus and clarity within your team

There are two ways to assign content: each feature can be assigned either to Smart Groups or to selected individual employees. Assigning a feature to Smart Group is a dynamic assignment, which will apply both to existing and future users.

You can read about the difference between both assignments by clicking here.

Time Clock & Job Scheduler

To edit assignments for the Time Clock/Job Scheduler:

  • Navigate to the Time Clock/Scheduler from the left sidebar

  • Click on the three grey dots that are located on the left bottom corner of the relevant Time Clock/Scheduler

  • Select “Edit Assignments” from the dropdown menu

  • Choose which users you want the Time Clock/Schedule to be assigned to (Time Clock can only be assigned to Smart groups while the Schedule can be assigned both to Smart Groups & selected users)

  • After selecting the relevant users, hover your mouse to the bottom right corner. Click the "Next" button

  • Notify the users that have been assigned to the Time Clock/Schedule in the way you see fit, such as via push notification or a feed update

  • Hover your mouse to the bottom right corner. Click the "Next" button

  • The summary page will appear. Make sure you have added the appropriate amount of users

By assigning the Time Clock \ Job Scheduler to a Smart Group you can make sure that any new employee that is added to the said group will automatically have access to the relevant content. For example, if you assign the schedule to a site group and a new employee joins the site, they will automatically appear on your planning board.

Chat

To edit assignments for Team Chats or Channels within the Chat :

  • Navigate to the Chat from the left sidebar

  • Click on “Manage Teams & Channels” - the tab located on the right side

  • Select the relevant Team Chat/Channel and click on “Edit”

  • Choose the Smart Group to which you want to assign the Team Chat/Channel, or Select Users one by one.

Assigning the Team Chat \ Channel to a Smart Group will determine the members of the Chat \ Channel, thus allowing you to avoid manual maintenance of the group.

Updates, Events, Quizzes, Library, Forms, & Surveys

In Connecteam, we want you to have the ability to assign specific content to specific groups or users, therefore, each update, event, quiz, library, Form, and survey needs to be assigned individually.

To edit assignments for those features:

  • Navigate to the relevant feature from the left sidebar

  • Enter the relevant asset

  • Click on “Options” at the top right corner and select “Edit assignments”

  • Choose the Smart Group which you want the asset to be assigned to, or Select Users one by one.

Directory & Quick Tasks

To edit assignments for the Directory/Quick Tasks:

  • Navigate to the relevant feature from the left sidebar

  • Click on “Options” at the top right corner and select “Edit assignments”

  • Choose the Smart Group to which you want the Directory to be assigned, or Select Users one by one

Now you can successfully add users to the different features and make sure each team member has access to the relevant content!
