Do you ever provide your employees with bonuses or rewards? Perhaps when they earn an employee of the month award or make the most sales. Besides recognizing them within the app, Connecteam gives you the option to reward users with tokens. These can then be loaded and used in the form of gift cards.

Let your users know you appreciate their work and give them something to keep it coming. Now let's get started on the basics of this amazing feature!

What are tokens?

Tokens are digital forms of money you send to your users when rewarding them. When sending tokens, you can send as many or as little as you like. Users can then use these tokens to buy gift cards at a variety of places such as coffee shops or restaurants.

How to buy tokens?

You can buy tokens in the Connecteam platform, making it easy for you to ensure you always have enough tokens when needed. Simply press the purchase tokens button in the top right corner and select the bundle you would like. These tokens never expire and can always be refunded if needed!

How to reward users by sending tokens?

To send tokens follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Send Tokens button in the top left corner.

  2. Select the user you want to reward tokens to

  3. Select the number of tokens or create a custom amount

  4. Write a message

  5. Press Send

  6. Viola, you have rewarded your user!

Now that we have taken a look at the Basics of how to use the rewards, let's look at how Connecteam lets you keep track of it all, and set limits on who can buy and send tokens.

Keeping Track of Token Usage

Connecteam wants you to know exactly how your users are spending their tokens as well as how many you have rewarded or purchased. For this reason, we have created different views within the Rewards Lobby. These are the Sent Tokens, User Activity, and Purchase History views.

As always, this information can be exported by using the export button in the top right corner.


Here at Connecteam, we understand how careful you need to be when using a feature that involves spending company money. We also understand that although only some admins should be granted that capability. For that reason, our Rewards settings are equipped with Admin Permissions allowing you to decide exactly who can do what.

Let's go over the admin permission options:

  • Purchase and Send - this allows Admins to both purchase tokens and send them. Please note that all owners are automatically set with this capability.

  • Purchase - This allows admins to only purchase tokens, but not to send them. This can be great if you want to task one admin with the responsibility of purchasing more tokens on behalf of the company, or if you have an admin who tends to reward too many tokens!

  • Send - This option only allows admins to send tokens, but not purchase them. This is a great option if you only want owners to have the ability to purchase tokens, but want admins or direct managers, to be the person rewarding them.

How to set the Admin Permissions

Follow these steps below to set up the admin permissions:

  1. Navigate to the Options Tab and Select Settings

  2. Press the blue + Add button to add admin permissions

  3. Select the Admin

  4. Select the permission you would like to award

  5. Press Confirm
