How to Create and Edit an Update from The Admin's Tab

Increase your employee's engagement and make your app's feed colorful and welcoming straight from the Admins tab

Connecteam makes it easy to manage your business on the go. That’s why we created the Admin tab in the mobile app, so you can manage your team and stay updated from anywhere.

The Updates feature is a great way to engage employees and interact with them. Think of Updates as your company’s social wall, where you can share announcements and involve employees in day-to-day communication. You can also post new updates from your phone


When should you use the Updates feature?

You can use Updates for:

  • Birthdays and anniversaries

  • Employee benefits

  • New employees

  • Company news

  • Weather updates

  • Employee recognition

  • Sending files

  • Sharing meeting or event locations (celebrations, gatherings, etc.)


How to Create an Update from the Admin's Tab

  1. In the mobile app, go to the Admin tab (bottom-right corner).

2. Select Updates:

  • From Quick access, or

  • From Active Assets

3. If you selected Updates from Active Assets, tap Create new update.

4. Write and customize your update

5. You can also add an Image/ Video/ File/ Link/ Youtube video/ Location/ Live Poll/GIF/ Shortcuts.

💡Pro tip: use the Shortcut capability to send internal links through the update feature sending the users directly to the relevant content with a click of a button.

6. Tap Publish (top-right corner).

7. Choose the Smart Group(s) and/or users who should see the update, then tap Next step.

8. Choose your publishing settings:

  • Publish now or schedule for later

  • Decide if users should receive a notification (you can edit the notification message)

  • Choose whether users can like and comment

  • Choose whether the update is posted anonymously

9. Tap Next step, then Publish update.

💡Pro tip: To save an update as a draft, tap the arrow in the top-left corner and select Save as draft.


How to edit an existing update from the Admin's Tab

  1. In the mobile app, go to the Admin tab (bottom-right corner).

  2. Under Active Assets, select Updates.

  3. Find the update you want to edit, then tap the three dots to the right of the update.

  4. Choose what you’d like to do:

    • Edit the update

    • Edit the update’s assignments

    • Archive the update

    • Delete the update


How to restore an archived update

  1. In Updates, tap Archived (top-right corner).

  2. Find the update you want to restore.

  3. Tap the three dots to the right of the update, then select Unarchive.
