Technology has come a long way, and along with the benefits that came with the rapid growth of technology came issues, one of which is cyber security. When using Connecteam, your business relies on technology for the majority of the processes that occur within the organization, and that requires taking steps to secure sensitive information. At Connecteam, nothing to us is more important than the success of our customers and the protection of their personal data. We comply with the strictest security standards for your protection and we offer the security of your data being backed by Amazon Web Services cloud security solutions.

Connecteam allows the owner of the account to set direct security measures and customize them to the company's needs, in this article we will go over all of the following options:

Security Settings

To enter the security settings, enter the general settings in the top right of the page, and click on "Security"

On this page you can select the security options you would like to enable for users and devices:

  • Enable 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) for all admins when accessing the dashboard - add an extra layer of security to your admin's dashboard with 2FA. System admins will need to enter usernames and passwords, and then will be directed to add an additional temporary PIN code which will be sent to their mobile device via text message.

Click here for more information about setting up device authentication.

  • Force app users to authenticate using their device's authentication method when accessing the app - enable this option to force the user's authentication when accessing the mobile app. The authentication method will be according to their device's face recognition or fingerprint authentication.

Click here for more information about setting up device authentication.

  • Require users to take a selfie image when logging into the Kiosk app - enable this option to avoid buddy punching or signing in. You'll be able to find an audit for those selfie images in each user's activity under their user profile.

  • Log out Kiosk users if they are inactive for more than X amount of minutes

  • Log out admins if they are inactive for more than X amount of minutes

  • Lock admins for X minutes after X failed password attempts

  • Require admins to reset their password every X days

Password Strength

Passwords provide the first line of defense against unauthorized access to your computer and personal information. The stronger the password, the more protected your computer will be from hackers and malicious software. You should maintain strong passwords for all accounts on your computer.

In this section, you can select the required password strength for systems admins when logging in to the web dashboard

SSO (Single Sign On)

SSO (Single Sign-On) is a method of signing your users into a platform with an existing user base that your organization already has (e.g. Microsoft, Google). Using SSO heightens your company's security, as it reduces the number of usernames and passwords that a user needs to remember and manage, thereby reducing the likelihood of weak, reused, or compromised credentials.
