If an admin creates repeating open shits, users need to claim each shift separately. After a user claims one of the repeating open shifts, the claimed shift will not be repeated. Meaning, the shift is now assigned to the specific user, that has claimed it and is no longer part of the series.

Let's see the process by an example:

I have created repeating open shifts for my managers, a Daily shift, for Mondays and Thursdays every week. I need one manager for each shift so I have set 1 spot available to claim. The open shifts will appear in the "Shifts without users" row, and the blue "1" icon indicates the number of available spots to claim.

One of my employees claimed one of the shifts. In order for a user to claim an open shift, he should access his Job Schedule on his mobile app, see the repeating open shifts, and choose the one he wishes to claim by clicking on the shift and clicking on the "Claim shift" button.

Now that the shift is claimed by one of my employees, this shift will not be repeated for this employee.

Pro tip: If you are a hands-on manager, enable admin approval for open shifts and make sure every claim is approved by you. When creating the shift, tick "Require admin approval for claimed shifts":

**Open shifts are available from the Operations Basic plan and above**
