Yes! The clock-in limitations by day will still work even if your employees are in different time zones than the Time Clock's "time zone" setting.

Connecteam's mobile app automatically adjusts to the user's date and time settings on their mobile device. This means that the Connecteam mobile app will always reflect the timezone of the user's mobile device. Let's look into this further with the example below!

Time Clock's Timezone Settings and Limitations

Let's consider that my Time Clock's timezone is set for New York, America (UTC/GMT -4).

Additionally, I have set the following "Custom limit by days" for days Monday to Thursday, where clock-in is only available from 2:30 pm and the auto clock-out is at 10:30 pm.

Employees in a Different Timezone

Now, let's think about our employee Emily, who is currently located in Madrid, Spain (GMT/UTC +2). If Emily attempts to clock in any time before or after the limit you set, she will not be able to do so and will get a message warning her "Not just yet! You can't clock in before 14:30 due to the daily limit".

Times on the Time Clock are adjusted according to each user’s time zone to ensure that custom limits by day are applied correctly, preventing discrepancies from time zone differences. For example, if an admin sets a limit from 14:00 to 22:30, these times will be respected regardless of the user's location. An employee in New York City will only be able to clock in and out between 14:00 and 22:30 New York time (UTC/GMT -4). Similarly, an employee in Spain will only be able to clock in and out between 14:00 and 22:30 Spain time (UTC/GMT +2). Connecteam’s mobile app aligns with the user's device time, maintaining accurate and fair time-based rules wherever the employee is located.
