If you activated your Time Clock Limitations but you're employees can still clock in at any time, it's likely, that you have accidentally toggled on the option that allows users can clock in without scheduled shifts when deciding how employees can clock in and out. When this option is toggled on employees will be able to clock in regardless of if they have a shift or not.
Let's go over how to fix this step by step:
Begin by entering the time clock, access the settings, and clock on limitations
Verify that you indeed have the correct limitation set up. If not, be sure to select clock in limitation and the option 'Users can only clock in within their scheduled shifts' limitation is turned on.
Next, go to the clock in and out tab and make sure the option to 'clock into a scheduled shift' is toggled on and be sure that the option to 'clock in without a scheduled shift' is toggled off. Once you are done, remember to save changes.
Your employee's clock-in should look as follows:
Please note that if you do leave the option to clock in without a scheduled shift toggled on then the limitations will only apply for the shifts they are scheduled for.
This means the employee has a scheduled shift from 5 pm to 10 pm the limitations will apply for that shift, however, they will still be able to clock in at 4:45 pm using the clock-in without shift options. Take a look a for employees below:
