Quizzes are essential for testing, evaluating, and improving your employees' knowledge. Our Quiz Insights capability is an advanced tool that analyzes all the responses collected from your quiz, providing a comprehensive overview. By offering the average of answer selections and clearly indicating who answered correctly and incorrectly, you can make more informed decisions and better understand which topics need reinforcement and which employees need additional support.

Let's take a closer look at how this works!

In this article, we'll cover:

How to Access the Quiz Insights

To access the quiz insights:

  1. Access the Quiz feature from the left sidebar

  2. Click on the specific quiz you wish to view the insights for

  3. At the very top of the page, you can see an overview of how many users out of the total passed the test, its percentage, and also how many users didn't submit it yet. To access the advanced insights, either click on View Insights or scroll down until you reach the section Quiz answers insights

  4. That's it - you are now looking at the quiz insights! Take a look at the full process illustrated below.

Please note: You can also view each user's entries by clicking the Show Entries button at the top.

Understanding the Quiz Insights

As you scroll down to reach the advanced insights, you will encounter some basic insights. Here, you can use filters to better find specific users and even take some quick actions. Let's explore this further.

Basic Insights, Filters, and Quick Actions

The basic insights detail the number and percentage of users who completed the quiz out of the total, how many have not started it yet, and the total number of entries made.

This is followed by the actual list of users assigned to the quiz. You can see if their result is "Passed" or "Did not pass" and how many entries each has made. This is when filters and quick actions will come in handy!

Feel free to use the Filters to narrow down the list by specific users or results. This can help you understand who exactly passed, failed, or did not take the quiz yet and make informed decisions. For example, if an entire department fails a quiz, maybe that department needs to redo a course or a special enablement session.

To assist you, we've also implemented the following actions for you to take if needed:

  • Exporting: Click on Export to get an Excel file with the list of users. You can export a complete list or first use the filters and export specific users only. For example, you can export those who have not yet completed the quiz on time to inform their direct manager.

This is an example of the exported Excel (.xlsx):

  • Bulk actions: You can select multiple users, click on the Actions button, and then choose to Notify them or Tag users.

If you notify them, you can write a customized message and send it to them via push notification. If you tag these users, you can create a new tag or select an existing one. Once you tag them, it will be added to their profile. The tagging system pairs well with our earlier example for users who need extra training.

Advanced Insights

Now, let's begin to analyze the Quiz Answers insights section, where you will see the advanced insights gathered for each question. For each multiple-choice question, you can see how many users out of the total that answered the question got it correctly and how many got it incorrectly. Click on each to see who the users are.

Additionally, you can see the average answer selection, as illustrated below.

*The Quiz Insights capability is available from the Basic plan under the HR hub*
