Send push notifications, and even customize them if you wish, when publishing content to improve the delivery and efficiency of your daily operations. Push notifications can be used in almost every feature, such as the Job Schedule, Forms, Events, Updates, and more. Let's explore this further!

This article will cover:

When Should I Send Push Notifications and Customize Them?

Nowadays, people are constantly connected to their mobile devices, relying on them for nearly every aspect of daily life. Leveraging this by sending push notifications effectively ensures they are alerted when new content they need to see is published. Customizing notifications adds another layer of effectiveness, making it more likely that users will pay attention, especially since they are accustomed to receiving notifications regularly.

Push notifications, especially custom ones, are highly versatile and can be used in various situations. For example, if you've published a quick task or a form that some users haven't completed, or if they haven't viewed an important update or RSVP'd to an upcoming event, you can send them a reminder using custom notifications.

How to Send Push Notifications and Customize Them

Push notifications and custom notifications can be used for both new content and assets you wish to publish or for those that have already been published. Let's go over both options!

For Already Published Content and Assets

To send a push notification and create a custom notification for already published content:

  1. Access the relevant feature from the left sidebar - it can be almost any feature in the platform; for this example, we'll use an Event

  2. Then select the specific event

  3. Scroll down to view the list of users that have been assigned to this event

  4. Filter them by those whose Status is 'Maybe attending' or 'Did not respond'

  5. Then select the box next to the relevant users

  6. Click on the Actions button, choose Notify

  7. Customize the message if you'd like

  8. Once the notification is ready, click Confirm & send

  9. All done! Users assigned to this content will receive a notification instantly!

This is what the notification looks like for users:

A similar process applies to already published assets in other features. For instance, let's look at an example from the Job Schedule. If you have assigned a user to a shift but they have not yet confirmed it, you can notify them. Simply access the shift and click the bell icon next to the "Publish" button at the bottom. This will open the notification settings for that specific shift. Make sure to select Notify assigned users,  then choose which users to notify, and, if you wish, you can also write a custom message. When you are ready, hit Confirm & Publish

For New Content and Assets

To send a push notification and create a custom notification for new content you want to publish, the option will be available as you create the content. For example, when creating a Form, as you go through the final steps, you will arrive at the Publish settings tab. Here, you can ensure to activate the push notification and customize its message, as illustrated below.
