You can get notified when a user is auto-clocked out or exceeds the daily limit, and you can also see it directly in their timesheets.

Before you start

Make sure you’re editing the correct Time Clock and that you have permission to update its settings.

Enable the relevant Time Clock settings

First, turn on the settings you need and define the daily limit and/or auto clock out.

  1. Go to the relevant Time Clock.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Open the General tab.

  4. Check Daily limit and/or Auto clock out.

  5. Enter the relevant hours.

Enable notifications (optional, but recommended)

If you want to receive an alert when a user is auto-clocked out or exceeds the daily limit, enable notifications. You can receive:

  • Push notification (mobile app)

  • Web push (desktop)

  • Email

  1. Go to the relevant Time Clock.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Open the Notifications tab.

  4. Enable the notifications you want for Auto clock out and/or Daily limit exceeded.

💡 Tip: Notifications are individual per admin. Each admin will need to set up notifications on their admin dashboard.

See Auto Clock Out directly in the timesheet

In addition to notifications, you can confirm an auto clock-out from the user’s timesheet:

  • A red exclamation mark indicates the shift ended automatically due to the auto clock-out settings.

  • Hover over the icon to see the explanation.

See when a user exceeded the daily limit in the timesheet

If a user exceeds the daily limit, you’ll see it in their timesheet:

  • If the daily total is red, hover over it to view the explanation that the shift hours exceeded the daily limit.
