The Events feature in the Connecteam app is a calendar-based resource that can be used to notify, manage, track attendance, and communicate about internal company events. Gone are the days of employees missing company events or being inadequately prepared for an event with the Events feature!

In this article, we will go over

Now, let's get started!

What's the Benefit of Having a Company Event?

Events validate your employees, boost morale, create a more productive team, and lead to a better, more positive workplace. Connecteam's events feature will help you ensure every event is a success and might motivate you to create more of them!

How can this feature enhance my company's events experience?

  • On the event page, people can discuss the event and raise questions, and managers can answer for everyone to see

  • You can create a "buzz" by encouraging people to share their excitement using different media and gifs

  • In case of any change or update, everyone can see the most updated event info, so you don't have to worry about people "missing the email"

  • People can mark their attendance, so you know how many people to expect and plan accordingly

  • After the event, people can share their thoughts, experiences, and even pictures and videos! This will always be accessible for everyone for future reference

What Can Events Be Created For?

Events can be created for special occasions like conferences, birthday parties, upcoming company trips, online company meetings, holiday parties, or anything else that allows your employees to gather in a place to hang out after work.

It can also be used for day-to-day events, such as team meetings, company get-togethers, company happy hours, and more.

How to Create an Event Step-by-Step

First, click the "Add New" Button at the top right of your screen.

Then, add a title and customize your post by uploading your image or selecting one from our already-designed images. Finally, add a start and end time with the location and you are ready to share the post! All that is left to do is configure the sharing settings along with deciding who you want to attend. It's that easy!

Here's a short video that shows exactly how to do it, step by step:

Set the Event Settings Based on Your Needs

You can set your settings to control how your mobile users can respond, how many employees can attend the event, and how late your employees can respond.

Find the settings tab on the top right, after pressing on the "Options" dropdown:

Then, decide how you want to customize your settings, personalized to fit your needs!

Who Can Create Events?

Events can be created by an admin and can be assigned to specific users, an entire group, or even the whole company. You can even decide which admins have access to specific events, giving each admin access to insights for only the event that they need to know about. If you want to learn more about how setting these admin permissions work check out this article.

Stay Involved with Employee Attendance Tracking

Do you have employees who know certainly that they are attending, are not sure yet, or know that they are for sure missing out on the event? With the "yes, no, maybe" feature, you will have amazing insights into who is attending the event so you can make sure you prepare accordingly. You can see in the screenshot below how many people are attending, not attending, and maybe attending. This helps our organizer to know how much pizza to order, cost-saving and efficient with plenty of ease!

The Table View

By scrolling down, you can even an exact list of your employees and what their status is: Attending, Maybe Attending, Not Attending, or Did not respond, and the amount of sports they reserved. Like most things, this list is exportable allowing you to provide these details to anyone necessary.

How Do Mobile Users See Events?

Your employee will see and engage with the event on their mobile device. Here are the different ways your employees can engage:

  • View the details of the event

  • Confirm if they are attending (or not)

  • Add the event to their calendar

  • Communicate about the event directly on the post

  • Upload media such as pictures, videos, and more

Here's how it looks:

How to Share Events Externally

If you want to ensure users view and RSVP to the event, you can share a link to the event anywhere you want! By sharing links with your users on other platforms (such as by WhatsApp or SMS), users won't miss important events and it'll easily increase engagement. When the user clicks on the link, they'll be taken to the feed's dedicated event page.

To copy an event's link, on the admin dashboard go to the Events feature on the sidebar and click on the name of the event. Then, click on Options and select Copy link.

💡 Tip: By using an external converter, you can convert a URL into a QR code!
