At Connecteam we want to make your payroll process as quick and efficient as possible. Timesheet Issues helps streamline the timesheet review process, focusing admins on critical issues that demand attention. The Issues column consolidates all issue types in the timesheet: conflicts, pending timesheet requests, and pending time off requests.

In this article, we will go over:

Viewing Timesheet Issues

To view issues on the timesheet, go to the relevant Time Clock and click on a user's timesheet. Next to the date column, you'll see the Issues column marked in red, with an exclamation icon next to every date that needs to be looked at.

Click on the icon to view what issues need to be handled:

The 'Issues' column currently supports conflicts, pending timesheet requests, and pending time off requests.

Review and Resolve Issues

To review and resolve issues, click on Review. This will open up the relevant window to give you more information about each issue For example, reviewing a timesheet request will open up the timesheet requests window which will allow you to see more information about the timesheet change the user requested to get approved. Each window will allow you to approve or reject the request.

Ignore Issues

In case these issues do not need to be resolved, you can choose to ignore issues which will remove them from the list of unresolved issues. To do so, click on the three dots and click Ignore Issue.

If an issue is ignored, but you need to make it back into an unresolved issue, click on the 'Un-Ignore' icon to revert it. Keep in mind that this function is not available for Conflict issues.

Important: Admins require 'Approve Timesheet' permission to be able to revert ignored issues.

Timesheet Conflicts

While timesheet issues show you all the potential gaps for payroll inaccuracies, conflicts help you spot any overlap in your employee's hours and allow you to quickly resolve them.

To view a timesheet's conflicts, navigate to the Time Clock feature, click on an employee's timesheet, and click on the red Conflicts button at the top of the timesheet. Here, you can make the necessary corrections to the timesheet and view a history of past corrections.

Preparing for Payroll

When preparing for payroll, choose to see which timesheets still have unresolved issues. In the Time Clock, go to the Timesheets tab, and under 'All timesheets' toggle on 'Unresolved issues only'. You can combine this with open timesheets to filter the list to show only users whose timesheets are still waiting for approval and contain unresolved issues. You can also filter days in a user's timesheet to view days with issues only. Click on an employee's timesheet, and toggle on unresolved issues only.
