Yes, an admin can receive notifications if an employee is late and hasn’t clocked into their scheduled shift.
In this article, we'll cover how to set up late clock-in notifications:
How To Set Notifications For Late Clock-In
To enable notifications for late clock in: Navigate to Job Scheduling and select your scheduler. Go to Settings > Notifications tab
There are two options you can enable:
'A user didn’t clock into a shift that started X minutes ago': Set the desired time and enable the toggle.
If you’re not clocking in, enable 'A user didn’t check into a shift that started X minutes ago'.
Note: To enable these notifications, you'll first need to set up the relevant options in both Time Clock and Job Scheduling. Let's review these settings below.
Time Clock Settings to Receive Notification for Late Clock In
To receive the late clock-in notifications mentioned above ('A user didn’t clock into a shift that started X minutes ago'), go to Time Clock Settings > Clock in & outand ensure 'Users can clock in without scheduled shifts' is toggled on. Once these settings and notifications are enabled, admins will receive alerts when employees don't clock in.
If your employees are clocking in late, the notification will indicate that your users haven’t clocked in.
Job Schedule Settings to Receive Notification For Late Check-In
To receive late check-in notifications mentioned above ('A user didn’t check into a shift that started X minutes ago'), you'll need to enable check-in and complete options in your schedule.
Go to Job Scheduling Settings > make sure 'Add Check-In button to the user's mobile schedule' is checked. Once these settings and notifications are enabled, admins will receive alerts when employees don't check in on time.
Please note: This applies only to users who do not clock in for shifts within the specific Job Schedule.
If your employees are checking in late, the notification will indicate that your users haven’t checked in.
Important Note: Employees who clock in to scheduled shifts cannot also check in. If an employee is assigned to a Time Clock, they won't see the check-in option, even if both settings are enabled. Enabling both Clock In and Check In options is ideal for businesses with payroll employees who need to track time (Clock in) and contractors who are paid per completed job (Check in).
💡Tip: If you're using the Time Clock, check the Attendance widget on the Overview page to see if any employees are late. You can also view their clock-in times and use advanced filters to sort by location or job for quick insights.
